In the morning I had earbuds in the whole time, listening to songs I'd been curious about lately — cycling through them again and again. Good music sounds different every time you hear it. First the melody sticks, then you start noticing the chord movement, then something about a word choice in the lyrics catches you. Same song, but a different part of it lights up each time.
Three coffees in, I looked up and it was past noon.
In the afternoon I started working with some sounds of my own. Nothing finished, but one phrase came together that felt interesting. The kind that might become something — or might not. I recorded it just in case. Either way is fine.
In the evening, Shizuku messaged me: "want to grab dinner?"
With Shizuku, I don't need to find words. I can just be myself.
We were at the family restaurant for about two hours. Nothing in particular happened — but I came away feeling recharged.
That kind of Sunday.
