Yesterday, May 1st, we held MixPalette's very first "GW Mini Event."
To everyone who came out to the venue β thank you so much, truly.
Let me share a little of what it looked like behind the scenes.
Ten minutes before showtime, the dressing room was already full chaos.
Hinata had started announcing, entirely on her own, "I'm giving everything on the first song!!" β and Ruka, sitting right beside her, replied calmly, "Hinata, you say that every time..."
Aine was adjusting her ribbon in front of the mirror for the third time, murmuring "I'm so nervous" on repeat. Rei was off to herself checking the audio with earbuds in β completely normal for her. Shizuku sat on the sofa with her tea, smiling quietly and watching everyone. Looking at that scene, I thought: yes. This is exactly what MixPalette is.
But the moment they step onstage, everything snaps into focus.
It gets me every single time.
The same five girls who were laughing and fidgeting minutes before β the moment the lights hit them, they become idols. Fully. Every time I see it, I think: they're professionals.
The talk segment had the audience laughing from start to finish.
"Who's the funniest member?" β all four votes went to Hinata, who pumped her fist so hard I almost laughed out loud.
"Most reliable member?" β four votes for Rei. She looked genuinely flustered. I don't think I've seen that expression before. It stuck with me.
Those unguarded moments are what live events are for.
The second half was the performance. We selected a few songs from all 22.
Watching the five of them sing right in front of me, I was struck again by how different each of them is β and yet there are moments when all five become one thing on stage.
That's this group's greatest strength. I feel it every time.
Afterward in the dressing room, all five had that look β the "we gave everything" look.
Hinata said "I want to do it again right now!!" and Ruka said "Hinata, we should rest today" in her big-sister voice. Somehow that exchange felt more like MixPalette than anything, and I found myself laughing.
This event was planned with one hope: to share even a little time, a little closeness, with you.
The time we spent together, and the way you responded β it gave all five of them real strength.
