Recently, I've had a few more secret projects.
…Not because I'm trying to hide them.
They're just not ready yet.
I enter the studio.
Open my PC.
Put on my headphones.
It looks like my usual routine.
But this time, there's something different.
There's a sound I haven't shown anyone yet.
A sound that doesn't have a name.
💙 Rei: "...Just a little more."
I replay the same section over and over.
The melody.
The rhythm.
The layers of sound.
Changing just one small thing can completely change the feeling of the whole track.
That's why I can't decide too quickly.
💙 Rei: "This isn't the sound."
Delete.
Rebuild.
Play again.
More adjustments.
More listening.
The clock keeps moving.
💙 Rei: "Something still feels missing."
Sometimes, the hardest part of creating music isn't adding something.
It's knowing what needs to be removed.
A sound that stands out too much.
A note that doesn't fit.
A feeling that isn't quite right.
I keep searching for the balance.
Then—
🩵 Ruka: "You're making something again, aren't you?"
I look back.
Ruka is standing there.
💙 Rei: "...It's still in progress."
🩵 Ruka: "When you say 'in progress,' it usually means something big is happening, right?"
💙 Rei: "Does it?"
🩵 Ruka: "Yes."
She says it with a smile.
But I'm still not ready to let anyone hear it.
I don't like showing unfinished sounds.
A song should be shared when it has become the sound I imagined.
💙 Rei: "Just wait a little longer."
🩵 Ruka: "Okay, okay. I'll wait until it's a little further along."
She leaves the studio.
The room becomes quiet again.
Only the sound from the monitor remains.
A melody.
A rhythm.
A feeling that is slowly taking shape.
💙 Rei: "...Almost."
I press play one more time.
This time, it feels a little closer.
Not perfect.
Not finished.
But closer.
What remains is still a sound without a name.
But little by little—
it is becoming something real.
Someday, this sound will reach everyone.
Until then.
Just a little longer.
To Be Continued...
