Glass noise... city breathing...

Wet guardrails, red lines streaming by. I passed someone else's happiness, just a glance from the corner of my eye. Through a silent phone screen, my breathing running shallow. Every time I smile just right, something gets shaved away.

Even when the rhythm of the crowd threatens to swallow me whole, it's always the word "I'm fine" that I keep choosing again.

Break out tonight kicking up off the asphalt. Pretty dreams alone aren't enough to survive here. Trembling street light, making my scars shine. Even the yesterday I lost I'll turn into acceleration.

A conversation cut short, milk tea gone completely cold. Like I was trying to cover it up, I turned the volume up. An emotion left half-read, a vision with nowhere to go. At a speed I can't turn back from, I race through this city.

Break out tonight a heartbeat that won't stop. Still incomplete as I am, I want tomorrow anyway. Echoing blue light, holding my loneliness and all. Take these broken feelings and turn them into noise.
